It’s Fall! This is my favorite season of the year. Maybe the only thing I don’t like about this time of year is the semi-annual deep cleaning. Fall is a time to pull out deeper hues and colors, to enjoy the crisp weather and good books! Some completely decorate for fall.
I wrote a post last year, 2014 Fall Decor Inspiration, in which I talked about tips and tricks to decorating for fall, as well as a gallery of inspiration photos. I included before and after photos of my own dining room transitioning from Spring to Fall.
This year, not only will I share a gallery of photos from various home tours, I will also discuss the 2015 colors of the season and give you access to a FREE harvest print, perfect for framing and putting on your mantle. So stick around. You won’t be bored.
Decorate for Fall with Colors
Pantone revealed their top 10 colors for Fall 2015.
-
Marsala
-
Stormy Weather
-
Biscay Bay
-
Amethyst Orchid
-
Reflecting Pond
-
Oak Bluff
-
Cashmere Rose
-
Dried Herb
-
Desert Sage
-
Cadmium Orange
The top color choice by Pantone is Marsala. It makes me think of the ruby hue of the sweet version of the wine mixed with the amber hue of the drier version like a Madiera.
You can check out the full list of 2015 colors in more detail on the fall fashion report found here. These colors are reflected everywhere from fashion clothing to hair color trends and fall weddings. Feel free to liven up your home decor items such as linens, bedding, pillows, throws, and the like with some of these beautiful colors.
Decorate for Fall with Decor
The typical decor of September – November of pumpkins or other gourds, Indian corn, Mums, and Juniper Berries, naturally elicit the hues that will be popular this season. They are natural tones. Remember, a few tips to incorporate for fall is to get cozy. Think pillows, throws, area rugs, even heavier drapes.
Decorate for Fall with Art Prints
Art prints are all the rage in home decor. They seem timeless to me and definitely bring a personal touch into the home. For those who like matting and framing prints for different seasons, I’ve designed 4 separate prints that you can download and print for FREE as a subscriber! I left the background white as a neutral. You can change the color dramatically with colored paper or matte frames.
As you browse through the gallery of home tour snippets, you’ll easily see how you can incorporate Marsala in a warm throw or Biscay Bay in a coastal theme or even Reflecting Pond in an art print as I did. The possibilities are only as endless as your imagination, and your wallet too, darn it.

We don’t want to forget the deck, porch, patio or sunroom. This is a good use of autumnal gourds in an outdoor lantern.

Don’t forget to bring an element of nature inside. Apples are a perfect alternative to gourds or pinecones; don’t forget to eat them before they spoil! 🙂 You’ll want to check Liz Marie’s blog later in the season for even more inspiration – love her!
